Malabsorption Syndrome
SYMPTOMS. Signs may include any one or more of diarrhea, bleeding tendency,
bone pain, weakness, loss of weight, tongue may be sore, cramps in muscles,
skin scaling and protruberant abdomen.
CAUSES may include malabsorption that is drug induced, a chronic disease
that impairs absorption of some vitamins and fats, parasitic disease and
gland disorders that impairs absorption of nutrients in the small intestine.
TREATMENT. Examination and laboratory tests, including stool tests, are
required to determine the cause and necessary treatment.
